The Artist, The Driftwood & The Art
Ike grew up in an artist home which has influenced his style and passion for creative expressions in design. His love for nature and the simplicity of design & balance has taken him on a journey from the shores of Beirut Lebanon and Alanya Turkey on the Mediterranean Sea to the tidal basins of South Carolina & Florida, he has landed on the banks of the Chesapeake Bay on historic Kent Island in Maryland.
The first English establishment on the island, Kent Fort, was founded in 1631, making Kent Island the oldest English settlement within the present day state of Maryland and the third oldest permanent English settlement in what became the United States—after Jamestown, Virginia (1607), and Plymouth, Massachusetts (1620).
Chesapeake Driftwood Gallery & Studio is located on the shores of the Chesapeake Bay. This allows the artist to explore the banks either on foot or by kayak in search of the raw material for each of his unique sea-aged & energy infused designs. The Chesapeake, which is fed by the mighty Susquehanna River from the north and the Atlantic Ocean from the south has a unique quality that artistically transforms the many different types of woods into nature’s art.

The oceans are the universe, the water that is our oceans are stellar in nature. Water on our earth was delivered by the ice from the many meteor impacts when the earth was formed over 4.5 billion years ago.
The energy from the far reaches of our galaxy is infused in the driftwood that has been immersed in our oceans. That same energy will transform your space, your home.
Chesapeake Driftwood Gallery would love to share that energy with you…to find the peace you are looking for. Each of our unique creations will have a different look and a very different energy vibe.
